Sneaky Peak

The fair I'm doing a stall for isn't that far away so I thought I would share a few, and I really mean a few of my pieces for it.

Lots of other pieces in store and also two more custom orders which will have their own post

Overnight Haul

Beginning to despise download, That said I never liked the scene in the first place. I got another order... after vowing to never do rush orders again. Foolishly I decided that - as it was a favour for a friend - I would take on the order.

The set in question was not for a friend of mine but a friend of a friend and I had only two days to do it in as she had to get them installed for download. Instead of saying no and letting her down I resolved to get the dreads finished which meant staying awake throughout the entirety of an evening to finish them off.

Which I can say I did. Now, for those that do not know I am living with my partner who - instead of going to bed like I advised him to - became adamant that he was going to stay with me the entire night because he had the next day of with the excuse that 'he didn't want to sleep upstairs on his own, he wanted to be with me.' Thus grabbing his pillar and quilt reappeared downstairs and fell asleep on the floor next to me whilst I finished the dreads.

The finished set I am happy with, it was my own blend of browns to match the girl's hair and off/creamy white in solids and candy cane dreads. pencil thin and 24" long.

The result is as follows;

Stalls

This year, I have my own stall at Birmingham alternative and burlesque fair at the end of june, specifically for hairpieces and ravewear.

Exciting stuff, myself and Cai have been working on getting everything organised and he seams fairly positive about it, more so than me. This has kick started me back into making creative hair, I had a bit of a lull with it recently, concentrating on more clothing and corsets as well as act designs but never mind.

I'm glad I have him by my side.... right enough of the mushy stuff, what can you expect from me this year ? well dreads,,,,lots of dreads. As well as hand made fringes, extensions, wigs, lox, gauntlets, Rave clothing, corsets, masks, lolita wear.... quite a lot really. Just as well I'm a fairly craft orientated person. This will be so much fun. Hope to see you there soon.

On a side note I took on two custom orders so update on them coming soon.

Taste the Rainbow

Super bright and colourful... the order that my friend made - note this was a rush order and thus done in only three days - was themed on rainbow.

The specs I was given were as follows;
*About a foot long
*Double ended
*Bright Rainbow themed
*Thin
* Enough for an undercut install

so I came up with the following set using Bright Red, Neon Lime, Bright Orange, Sky Blue, Grass Green, Indigo and Neon Pink.

I made them 14" long with a variety of different styles and a 40 DE count.
Most were transitionals with black as The person in question has black hair and this it would create a nice, seamless install. Mixed into this were, harlequins; which had a transitional on one end (usually a candy cane transitional) and a solid, splash, wrap or candy cane on the other end. The transitionals were triple and candy bar trans as well as the usual single transitional. I did throw in two dreads of my own creation which are transi-candies. They transition from one candy cane into another of different colours. Also the set boasts two 7 colour transitionals.

And now the moment you have all been waiting for.....

What to expect and dread - making tip/hint video

It has often been said by; friends, family and past relationships that I spend too much time enveloped in my own little world i.e. my workshop. I don’t spend a lot of time outside of it save for taking care of my animals - particularly the horses – and of course to work/perform etc.
Admittedly as I’m studying sciences in Uni this does take a bit of time also (But then I did come out with 4 A’s at A-level in Biology, chemistry, physics and Mathematics for a reason... I do study hard).

What can I say? I enjoy making and doing various projects that are productive. Yes it causes problems in most relationships as it appears I’m always behind my sewing machine or various other bits of hardware I use for crafting. To be completely truthful … I truly don’t care and my current partner loves making stuff just as much as I so it’s a win – win.
For this reason alone we have three major outfit projects to complete (each) for various events this year and to say the least if we can pull them off it would be rather impressive.

The reason for this prelude is that I will have some rather random and extensive updates over the coming months in comparison to now. However for the time being, I have a small video which I made a while back and have only just got round to uploading.

But before I come to that I have to say that on the hair front I have been rather busy. I have completed three sets of dread falls/installs (photos are coming at a later update).
Two dread wigs, with another on the way
One mixed media wig
One pair of mixed media falls
Five fringes
And two normal wigs as well as a special hairpiece which I will give more info on in due course.

Now, on to the video!

I have been asked how best to get smoother dreads in the past so here are some tips to help. I’m not great at explaining things so if you have any questions feel free to email me and I will get back to you.

Newest dreads

The uv purple has gone from the underside of my hair, so I'm back to my natural light golden blonde again.

Currently I am working on a new set of dreads for myself and a set for my other half, he's learning to make them himself. My new set is various shades of pink and purple... I have matching clothes and accessories I have made ready for when they are finished.

I also have made myself three new hawks as I love them... I would have a real death-hawk but I like my blonde hair too much to fully dye it or shave in an undercut so I'm going to keep it the same as it is now, Cai likes it as it is to so makes more sense to leave it be. But yea, more dreads, wigs and hairpieces so not complaining .... I have to use this massive pile of hair up somehow (300+ bags at the moment)

Photo update

I have photos of more of my dread sets, here is my christmas installs. I made all of the dreads below and the install was done by my younger sister who is a qualified hair-dresser

Here are my uv reactive purple, silver and black dreads.

As to my natural hair, its still golden blonde and waist length but my sister has put UV reactive lilac-purple hair dye on the underside and wow it looks cool and shines super bright under blacklight ^^ I'm a happy lady
